“Faith and Doubt” Response
September 14, 2006I agreed with Rabbi Brad Hirschfield the most on his definition of evil. He says that evil is something big and little things that people do wrong are not evil. I feel that if you make a mistake it is not evil, it is just a mistake. For example, oversleeping or getting into an auto accident are not truely evil, they are just mistakes. I feel that people who call everything that is wrong “evil” are people who just want a cut and dry conclusion. I agree with Rabbi Hirschfield that naming one person as evil does not make the evil go away. It is stil there and it is still evil.
